One dead, several injured after fiery crash on QEW in Oakville, police say

One person is dead and seven others are injured after a fiery collision on the QEW Thursday night. Halton Regional police say they were called to the scene after a multi-vehicle collision near the Trafalgar Rd. ramp on the Queen Elizabeth Way in Oakville around 11 p.m. OPP confirmed there was one fatality as crews worked to clear the road early Friday morning. Halton police say they believe the collision occurred after a large tractor trailer rolled over and caught fire. They said they believe it was carrying food products.OPP say the Toronto-bound lanes of the highway are closed and it is not known when they will reopen. OPP officers in the area are rerouting cars to exit the highway using the Trafalgar Rd. ramp.The police investigation continues.
