Uruguay Recaptures Argentine Who Escaped With Mafia Boss Rocco Morabito

Deutsche Welle reports one of the four prisoners who escaped from a prison in Montevideo, Uruguay Sunday has been recaptured after looking for a ride to take him over the border into Brazil, the country´s interior ministry said Wednesday. Acting on an anonymous tip, the report said, police said they searched the town of Salto for Leonardo Abel Sinopoli Azoaga, who was picked up by police at a shopping mall and bus station carrying only a mobile phone. Sinopoli had previously escaped from a Brazilian jail in 2001, again when he was about to be extradited, the newspaper reported.
