#IPIWoCo: Egypt urged to free jailed journalists

The General Assembly of the International Press Institute (IPI), a global network of editors, media executives and leading journalists, yesterday unanimously approved a resolution calling on Egypt to release all jailed journalists and to end harassment of independent news sites. The resolution comes shortly after the Egyptian authorities refused to honour a court order to release Al Jazeera correspondent Mahmoud Hussein, who has been held without charges since December 2016.
