Kim Hyok Chol, who led the working-level negotiations between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and United States President Donald Trump for their meeting in Hanoi last February, was executed along with four other foreign ministry officials in March, according to South Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo. An unidentified source said U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo`s counterpart in the run-up to the meeting, Kim Yong Chol, was also sentenced to forced labor and ideological education.
