Maeg Amsler a big hit for Hanover softball

Hanover softball coach Joe Messina was running a camp when a 10-year-old walked up to him and asked if it was okay to slap-hit the ball. That 10-year-old was Maeg Amsler, and seven years later she is one of the most feared hitters in the Patriot League. She is crushing the ball at a .788 clip, no small feat given the league has some solid pitching. `She had just moved into the area from Florida, so she was used to playing year around,` Messina said. `You could just see that she was really into the sport.
