Noida: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to field a woman candidate for the Gautam Budh Nagar seat, days after deliberating on whether to forge an alliance with the Congress. AAP´s UP in-charge Sanjay Singh announced the party´s decision through a tweet on Sunday. Shweta Sharma (38), a teacher formerly associated with Greater Noida´s IIMT college, would be contesting against the BJP´s Mahesh Sharma and the Congress´s Arvind Singh. While deciding on candidates, parties in the fray have been keeping in mind the caste arithmetic that affects votes in the state.
