Amid poll-time checks, 300 boxes of illegal liquor seized

Ludhiana: In one of the biggest recoveries of illegal liquor during the election season here, Ludhiana rural police recovered 300 boxes of booze from a truck in Jagraon on Sunday. Following the seizure, cops arrested two of the truck occupants - Shubham Kumar and Shail Kumar, both residents of Rajpura in Patiala district. Police said on a tip-off, a checkpost was set up on Aligarh village-Kothe Khanjura road. On suspicion, a truck bearing temporary registration number was signalled to stop.
