CDC Says Flu Shot Much More Effective This Year

The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention released its weekly report on Thursday which estimated this year`s vaccine`s overall effectiveness in preventing infection at just 47%, an improvement from last year, according to NBC News. The CDC said the interim estimate for last year was only 36 percent. The report also said more than 90 percent of this year`s flu cases tested by the CDC were H1N1, the milder variety, while 10 percent of people are getting the stronger H3N2 version of the flu. But the report also said anyone who hasn`t received a flu shot should get one.
