Jhalawar 1st in `Love to Cows´ campaign

JAIPUR: Much before the Gopalan directorate announced to honour people for adopting abandoned cows, Jhalawar district administration had already been doing so. People have adopted 197 cows in the district so far. Under the scheme, which is the brainchild of Jhalawar district administration, a person adopting an abandoned cow has to pay Rs 15,000 for upkeep of the bovine in the gaushala. The person is later felicitated with gou-seva award by the district administration. Recently Gopalan directorate has issued an order for encouraging people to adopt stray cows and he will be awarded on Independence day and Republic Day.
