NEW DELHI: Now, get ready to pay - albeit a small sum - for getting your check-in bags scanned at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. While passenger frisking and hand bag checks are done by CISF, checking what goes in the belly of the aircraft is the responsibility of the airport operators. Delhi International Airport (DIAL), from February 1, will charge X-ray baggage fees ranging from Rs 110 to Rs 880 for domestic and $149.33 to $209.55 for international flights. This fee will be charged from airlines, which in turn will pass on the same to the passengers. This could mean up to Rs 5 to Rs 50 per domestic and international flyer, respectively.
