Nagar Road traffic plan dropped after 4-hour chaos

PUNE: A traffic plan rolled out without prior intimation led to chaos between Shastrinagar and Yerawada areas of Ahmednagar Road on Tuesday. The traffic snarls grew unmanageable and the plan was abandoned hours after it was launched. The traffic police closed the right turn for vehicles heading to Golf Club Chowk from Shastrinagar Chowk in Yerawada to ease congestion at three chowks. Vehicles had to travel up to Gunjan Talkies Chowk to make a right turn. Vehicles waited in long queues at Gunjan Talkies Chowk, Shastrinagar Chowk, Ramwadi and other places.
