Pickpockets steal gold at Swargate bus stand

PUNE: Pickpockets targeted a schoolteacher from Satara, stealing a purse containing expensive gold bangles at the Swargate state transport bus stand on Sunday. The bangles, worth Rs3 lakh, were stolen as the 40-year-old woman was boarding a bus in the afternoon. Sarika Jadhav, who lives in Pusegaon in Satara district, has lodged a complaint with the Swargate police. Jadhav was visiting her parents in Dhayari and had come to Pune on January 10. `On Sunday afternoon, Jadhav left Dhayari to catch the bus to Satara at the Swargate bus stand,` said senior inspector Ashok Kadam.
