The Kazakh foreign ministry said Beijing will allow more than 2,000 ethnic Kazakhs to abandon their Chinese citizenship and leave the country on Wednesday, one of the first major signs of China reacting to the international pressure over its crackdown in the Xinjiang region on Muslims and other ethnic groups, according to The Associated Press.
