Streaming fee-required videos gets more and more popular, almost 70% of Austrian internet users watch free video content

Press release: 11.913-224/18 Vienna, 2018-12-03 - In 2018, 28% of all internet users aged 16 to 74 streamed fee-required videos from commercial services. According to Statistics Austria, this share has doubled within the last two years (2016: 14%). Among young people, this proportion was even higher: Half of the 16- to 24-year olds streamed such videos (49%). Additionally, 69% of all surveyed persons watched free video content on social media or video sharing services.
