LUDHIANA: A local court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his cousin. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on Ashok Mandal, a resident of Iqbal Nagar on Tibba Road. It stated that since the fine amount would not be an adequate compensation, the matter be referred to District Legal Services Authority for providing relief to the legal heirs of the deceased under relevant section of the CrPC.
