Transport volume on Austrian roads increased by 4.1% in 2017

Press release: 11.885-196/18 Vienna, 2018-10-18 - In 2017, the transport volumecarried out by domestic and foreign road freight vehicles on Austrian roads amounted to 509.9 million tonnes, as Statistics Austria reports. Compared to 2016 (489.6 million tonnes), this means an increase by 4.1%. With 41.6 billion domestic tonne-kilometres, the transport performancerose by 6.6% in the reference year (2016: 39.0 billion tonne-kilometres). As in the previous year, the transport volumeincreased for all types of transport in 2017.
