Speaker John Bercow should resign in the wake of a damning bullying investigation, the chairwoman of the Women and Equalities Committee has said. Maria Miller added to the pressure that is growing on Mr Bercow to step down from the Commons role in the wake of a shock probe by Dame Laura Cox QC which found `urgent and serious problems` in the way abusive behaviour by MPs and staff is dealt with in Parliament.
