Rox take West lead after Marquez ties MLB mark

Rockies right-hander German Marquez opened with eight straight strikeouts, tying an MLB record, and set the club`s single-season strikeout mark in a 14-0 win over the Phillies on Wednesday night at Coors Field. Marquez fanned 11 over seven innings of three-hit ball. David Dahl, Trevor Story and Ian Desmond each homered during a seven-run fifth inning for Colorado. The Rockies won their sixth straight game, while the Phillies lost their seventh in a row.
