Rockies rally to cut into Dodgers` division lead

Friday night was like most of the rest of this Rockies road trip -- this time with starting pitcher German Marquez delivering in sterling fashion, with 11 strikeouts -- only with one delightful plot twist. RBI singles by David Dahl and Nolan Arenado and a two-run hit from Ian Desmond lifted the Rockies to a 6-2 victory over the D-backs at Chase Field. Colorado improved to 1 1/2 games behind the West-leading Dodgers and remains 1 1/2 games behind the Cardinals for the second Wild Card.
