Putin Announces Creation Of Buffer Zone in Idlib

Moscow announced on Monday the leaders of Russia and Turkey agreed to establish a demilitarized zone around the Syrian rebel-held province of Idlib, according to The AFP. Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi to discuss the fate of Idlib, one of the final rebel enclaves in Syria which is home to three million people. `We will prevent a humanitarian tragedy which could happen as a result of military action,` Erdogan said after the four-hour talks.
