Beforehand, those wanting Amazon Prime above the border would have to pay the $79 annual fee upfront to gain access to its benefits, but can now opt to pay $7.99 per month instead. Prime members in the U.S. have had the option to pay monthly since late 2016, with UK members also being able to pay per month for some time.
