Over 200% rise in traffic violation cases in 7 months

Nagpur: The traffic police fine 54 drivers/riders every hour in Nagpur. This roughly translates to penalizing 1,289 errant motorists every day, considering cops´ working hours are from 9am to 9pm. According to data compiled by the traffic police, there has been a rise in traffic violations such as helmetless riding, using mobile phone while driving, jumping signals, parking in no-parking zones, wrong side driving etc. There has been a whopping 207% increase in overall traffic violations till July this year.
