PUNE: An illegal betel stall owner fired at an outdoor advertising agency owner at busy Savitribai Phule University Chowk at 11.30am on Saturday suspecting the latter´s hand in demolishing his kiosk, sending shock waves among commuters. The assailant, Shukracharya Baswant Madale (36), fled towards Pashan after firing at Sameer Kishan Yenpure (39). A nakabandi operation was launched and a beat marshal of the Hinjewadi police (under the new Pimpri Chinchwad police commissioenrate) intercepted the assailant at Bavdhan and handed him over to the Chatushrungi police.
