Etienne Chappell (Seren Dwr) came close to winning his first international medal whilst Daisy Cooil (Tees Tigers) exceeded her own expectations on day three of the Canoe Slalom Junior and U23 European Championships in Bratislava today. Chappell began his day finishing the K1M Junior semi finals in sixth despite a touch. A determined effort saw him go almost four seconds faster in the final to finish third with five left to race.
