Google`s replacement for paid Drive plans is ready for primetime.
This past May, Google announced that it was taking its paid Drive storage plans and rebranding them as `Google One.` The service has been accepting new members on a limited basis since then, but starting today, it`s opening up to everyone in the United States.
In a blog post that was published on August 15, Google noted that:
Recently, we introduced Google One, a plan that gives you expanded storage and helps you get more out of Google. Over the past few months, people with Google Drive paid plans have been upgraded to Google One. And starting today, people in the U.S. can choose to upgrade to Google One.
Along with the name change, Google One comes with some decent upgrades over the old paid Google Drive storage plans.
