Karunanidhi gone, no more NSG protectee in TN

CHENNAI: The demise of DMK patriarch and former chief minister M Karunanidhi on Tuesday has meant that the last Z-Plus protectee in Tamil Nadu is gone. There are no more VIPs in the state who will be protected by the National Security Guard (NSG) commandos. A 22-strong NSG contingent that guarded Karunanidhi now stands withdrawn and will soon report to the force`s headquarters in New Delhi for deployment.
