Proposed apartments for homeless near Carson faces neighborhood backlash

Nonprofit group PATH Ventures has proposed constructing a Vermont Avenue apartment building for the homeless near Carson. The plan is much like a development near Gardena that opened in 2015 and houses formerly homeless veterans, seniors and couples with critical health needs. The concept was called a `model` for Los Angeles. Judging by the community reaction so far, PATH - the acronym stands for People Assisting The Homeless - will have its work cut out to reach a level of comfort for some worried residents in this unincorporated area known as West Carson. These opponents also concede that it’s early in the process and they don’t know exactly what form the apartments will take....
