CHENNAI: Two police personnel were attacked in separate incidents when they tried to pacify fighting groups at Pulianthope and Royapuram on Friday. A police sub-inspector attached to the Royapuram police station was assaulted with a small knife on Friday night when he tried to calm down two drunk men involved in a fight. Police said a team on night patrol received a distress call through the control room about some unknown men fighting on Cemetery Road at Royapuram, causing nuisance to the public.
