Paxton looks to get Mariners on track in finale

James Paxton (6-1, 3.53 ERA) finishes up the series at Yankee Stadium with a great pitching matchup against standout right-hander Luis Severino (10-2, 2.09 ERA) at 10:05 a.m. PT today. Paxton is coming off his shortest start of the season -- 2 1/3 innings with seven hits and six runs against Boston when several errors led to a rough outing. But he was 5-0 with a 1.98 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 63 2/3 innings in his previous nine outings. This will be the first time he`s faced the Yankees.
