Doug Ford says he was unaware a police officer he hand-picked as the Progressive Conservative candidate in Scarborough- Guildwood has been accused of sending a threatening email.That officer, Roshan Nallaratnam, is now the subject of an internal investigation by Toronto police.Rival parties are calling on Ford to oust Nallaratnam as a candidate just three days before Thursday`s provincial election.“I haven`t seen that,” Ford said Monday when asked about the email Monday morning at a campaign event with Nallaratnam and several other candidates, including former leadership rival Christine Elliott. Nallaratnam did not comment and quickly left Ford`s announcement once it was over. The New Democrats had put out a statement earlier Monday alleging Nallaratnam sent an email to a member of the Tamil community that used an obscenity and threatened to teach the person a “lesson” for asking why Nallaratnam wasn’t attending all-candidates’ meetings.“The ominous threat is even more chilling given that Nallaratnam is a police officer,” charged the NDP, calling on Ford to “denounce this unacceptable behaviour.” Ford has taken aim at “radical” NDP candidates, including one who is opposed to poppies on Remembrance Day and another who 12 years ago held placard reading “f--- the police” at a rally. Asked again whether he has concerns about the alleged threats, Ford replied, “I would have to look into that.”Later in the day, at a restaurant in Woodbridge, Ford said he was standing by Nallaratnam.“I talked to Roshan.
