Belt goes to DL (appendicitis); Pence returns

After being taken to a local hospital to be evaluated on Friday night, first baseman Brandon Belt underwent an appendectomy, the Giants said. He was expected to be released on Saturday, and there`s no word yet on how much time he would miss.
