Mets are done with Matt Harvey

The Matt Harvey era with the Mets has ended abruptly. GM Sandy Alderson said on Friday afternoon that the team would designate Harvey for assignment after the right-hander declined to take a minor-league assignment. Harvey had struggled mightily this season, first as a starter then after he was demoted to the bullpen.
