Zimmermann gets Game 1; Boyd for Game 2

Jordan Zimmermann gave up four runs over six innings in his Opening Day start against the Pirates, and after a rainout on Monday, he`ll get another crack at the Pittsburgh lineup at 4:05 p.m. ET. Zimmermann struck out eight in his previous start against the Pirates, his highest total for a start since May 2016. The Tigers turn to one of the hottest pitchers in baseball for the second game of their doubleheader, set to start 30 minutes after Game 1. Matthew Boyd has held opponents to one run in each of his three starts this season -- all going six innings. However, the left-hander is still searching for his first win.
