Royals break through in G2 with rally in 9th

Trailing by one run entering the ninth inning, the Royals got a bloop RBI single by Abraham Almonte to tie it, then took the lead when Tigers first baseman Niko Goodrum botched a routine grounder by Jon Jay, and overthrew the pitcher covering the bag, allowing Alcides Escobar to score in Game 2 of the doubleheader. JaCoby Jones, the walk-off hero in Game 1, had put Detroit in front with a sacrifice fly in the seventh. Jakob Junis went eight strong innings in a no-decision for Kansas City, which snapped a nine-game skid.
