WASHINGTON—U.S. President Donald Trump has ousted national security adviser H.R. McMaster, the second time this week he has replaced a top foreign policy official with whom he had clashed.No administration in at least the last 40 years, likely much longer, has experienced so much high-level personnel turnover. Trump is seeking to rid his administration of people he dislikes or who attempt to constrain him from acting on his instincts, U.S. news outlets reported.Trump had never warmed to McMaster, finding the three-star army lieutenant-general and PhD military history scholar hectoring and stiff. It appeared that the ouster had more to do with Trump’s general disdain for McMaster than any particular policy dispute.More to come.
