Soon after police provided an update on their investigation into alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur, his son, Todd, made an appearance at an Oshawa courthouse on unrelated charges in a different case. McArthur’s 37-year-old son, and youngest of two children, was flanked by two women who refused to identify themselves to reporters.“We’ve been through enough. We’re also victims,” Todd McArthur said outside the courtroom. “We’ve been through too much. It’s been hell. No more comment.” The trio avoided reporters at the 150 Bond St. courthouse Thursday afternoon, where Todd was scheduled for a brief hearing to substitute his surety on the terms of his bail. Todd McArthur is facing charges of breach of probation, making indecent telecommunications, and criminal harassment.While he was in court, police provided an update on the investigation into his father, Bruce McArthur. Police announced Thursday that they have recovered the remains of six people, including Andrew Kinsman.Det.-Sgt. Hank Idsinga did not identify the other five people whose remains they found while searching a home on Mallory Cres., or say whether they are of victims police have already named. Bruce McArthur, 66, was charged with first-degree murder in the disappearances of Kinsman, Selim Esen, Majeed Kayhan, Soroush Mahmudi and Dean Lisowick.Idsinga said he expects more charges to be laid against Bruce McArthur.
