Temuka water restrictions ahead of filtration plant installation

A temporary fix to Temuka`s asbestos-hit water supply means residents will be banned from using all hoses and sprinklers. On Thursday, the Timaru District Council announced a temporary water filtration plant will be installed on Sunday night as a short term solution to remove most of the asbestos. It will, however, cause a reduction in the town`s water pressure and council has now placed the town on a Level 5 water restriction.
