The Toronto subway system is about to get cellphone service and Freedom Mobile customers are the big winners. All 75 subway platforms in the TTC network are now cell enabled; this includes the Line 1 extension’s six brand new stations and the nine kilometres of underground tunnel opening to the public on Sunday. (There is also cell connectivity in the tunnel between Bloor/Yonge and King stations, and that will expand around the Union Station loop and back up the University line to St. George station by the end of summer 2018.)
