Maha panel aims at zero custodial deaths in state

Nagpur: Aiming to prevent custodial deaths, improving ground-level intelligence gathering mechanism to nip crime in the bud and to enhance police-public relationship, state government has set up a high-level committee to formulate measures in that direction. Deepak Kesarkar, minister of state home (rural), finance and planning, said on Wednesday the committee has also been entrusted with the task of fixing the accountability of officials.
