Tax consultants, assessees complain of glitches on GST portal

Surat: Commercial tax consultants and the trader community in the Diamond City are upset with the Goods and Service Tax (GST) Council and the central government for ignoring their demand for rectification of technical issues on the GST portal, which have left thousands of tax payers in the lurch. Tax consultants stated that the GST portal was under maintenance since last two days and not a single return was uploaded. The 3B format of the GST, too, was changed without any prior notice to the assessees. Now, the tax consultants will have to change their software to match the changed 3B format.
