Corning picks N.C. over S.C. for 428-job expansion

North Carolina just beat out South Carolina for a two county, 428-job Corning Incorporated manufacturing expansion teased by President Donald Trump in July. The New York-based company, which manufactures glass, ceramics and other materials, announced Wednesday that it will bring 317 and 111 manufacturing jobs, respectively, to Durham and Edgecombe counties.
