Acting on a report received that a small fishing boat was adrift in the Menai Straits the U.K Coastguard at Holyhead requested the Beaumaris Lifeboat to launch to investigate. At 12.58 pm the pagers of the volunteer crew for the Beaumaris Inshore Atlantic 85 Lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington sounded and the lifeboat launched at 1.12 pm, once afloat the lifeboat proceeded to commence a search between Beaumaris and Menai Bridge..
