New Zealand needs its own head of state

We´re a republic in all but name - Philip Ross Perhaps once New Zealand was an echo of England on the opposite side of the world, but today we have a more diverse population and our own independent statehood. I have nothing against the British royal family, but it is time we asserted our independence as a nation and had our own head of state.
