Police in Rio de Janeiro Arrest Drug Kingpin Behind Gang War in Brazil`s Largest Favela

Security forces in Rio de Janiero announced that they arrested a drug kingpin that was at the center of a war between rival gangs in one of Brazil`s largest favelas, according to The Guardian. Rogério da Silva, 36, also is known as Rogério 157, was taken into custody on Wednesday in an operation involving 3,000 Brazilian military and police. Da Silva was wanted on charges of homicide, extortion, and drug trafficking and had a $15,000 reward for anyone who had information leading to his arrest.
