Cake designers bring talent, ideas to Hy-Vee competition

GALESBURG — Two Galesburg cake designers traveled to Davenport, Iowa, on Sept. 12 to compete in Hy-Vee’s annual Extreme Cake Challenge. The winners would take home prize money — and the opportunity to compete in the company finals Nov. 11 in Des Moines, Iowa, where the prize money will be even greater. Representing Galesburg in the semifinals were Jenny Fryer from Hy-Vee on Main and Kim Roy from Hy-Vee on Henderson.
