City hails SC order to bar triple talaq, but sceptical if it will bring real change

In a landmark verdict on Tuesday, the Supreme Court ordered a stay on the practice of `instant divorce` through triple talaq after a majority of 3:2 concluded that it is void, illegal and unconstitutional. Referring to its abolition in many Islamic countries, the apex court put a six-month stay on the practice in the country while directing the government to enact a law within the given time frame.
