With workshops, more children talk about sexual abuse instances

Mangaluru: It was a workshop on child abuse that helped 12-year-old Asha (name changed) open up to the brutal abuse she was being subjected to. At the end of the workshop on Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, the young girl broke down and spoke of how her uncle had been abusing her for about a year. When officials of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) counselled her and carried out a medical examination, they were in for another shock. The preteen was four months pregnant.
