Eclipse festival traffic crawls through Prineville as small towns prepare for weekend

Prineville has never seen traffic like this. Officials in the Central Oregon town of less than 10,000 said they expect between 8,000 and 10,000 vehicles will roll through on two different highways Thursday. The vast majority are heading to the Symbiosis Gathering, a five-day music festival that runs through Monday`s total solar eclipse. Wednesday`s gridlock set a record for the region, Oregon Department of Transportation spokesman Peter Murphy said.
