Murder accused Rohde in court for pre-trial hearing

Cape Town - Property mogul Jason Rohde appeared for his pre-trial conference at the Western Cape High Court on Friday where his trial was set for October. Rohde, a former chief executive of Lew Geffen Sotheby`s is accused of the murder of his wife Susan in their hotel room at Spier Wine Estate, outside Stellenbosch last year. The pair had been attending a property conference at the state where they were reportedly seen arguing the day before the woman`s body was found in the bathroom. Rohde also stands accused of defeating the ends of justice for allegedly making the death look like a suicide. He is out on R100 000 bail and R1m surety. The trial is set to start on 9 October.
