Teenager Jay Renton is set to make a surprise debut for the Southland Stags in their national provincial championship opener against Hawke`s Bay in Napier on Saturday. At the start of the week, Renton was preparing to line up for the Southland under-19 team in their game against Canterbury in Invercargill on Saturday. However, he is now set to start for the Stags halfback against Hawke`s Bay. Jahvis Wallace is out with a knee injury while the Stags second contracted halfback Liam Howley is also unavailable for the game.
